Unique place to enjoy culture and nature – Nakajima Park.

Open throughout the year this 21ha park will be the perfect place to spend a few hours in.

Have lunch in the shadows of about 5000 different trees or watching the boats on Shobu Pond from Nakajima Park Boat Pier. Visit Astronomical Observatory, Hokkaido Museum of Literature, and Yahiko Shrine. Take your family or friends to a classical concert to Concert Hall Kitara or Japan first public Putter Theater – Kogumaza. If you like sports, Nakajima Sport Center and Tennis Courts are what you need.

You can learn a bit about Hokkaido history by visiting the historical building Hoheikan, which was built in 1880 as a hotel to accommodate first western dignitaries to come to Hokkaido.

Also, a traditional Japanese garden in Nakajima Park is a new home for the Hasso-an – Japanese traditional tea house designed and built in the early 1600s and presented to Hokkaido by Shiga Prefecture.

Nakajima Park is especially beautiful during the cherry blossom in late April to early May and during the autumn foliage in mid-late October.
